  • The length of the tomb is 19 meters and was carved into the rock of the mountain during the era of the Pharaonic Nineteenth Dynasty of Egypt in the era of The New Kingdom in ancient Egypt.

The tomb was discovered in 1817 by archaeologist Giovanni Batista Belzoni and Howard Carter in 1902.

The Tomb of King Sethi I was called the tomb of Hapi following the discovery of a bull mummy in a room next to the burial chamber, The Bull Hapi, one of the sacred religious beliefs of the Pharaohs.

It was called the “tomb of Belzoni” in connection with its discoverer, the Italian archaeologist Giovanni Batista Belzoni.

  • The mummy of King Sethi I was discovered in 1886 AD decapitated in the hideout of Deir El Bahari.
  • The mummy’s coffin is now on display at the Swan Museum in London, Britain, and is made of a one-piece pasteurization.
