• Because of his military experience, King Horemheb left military matters to him so that he could focus on the country’s internal affairs.

• When King Ramesses I took over the rule of Egypt, his first interest was in the city of Tanis, so he chose it as a summer residence for him and his son, King Seti the First.
• Among the goals of Ramses I is to restore the ancient religion of the cult of Amun, which deteriorated after the religious revolution carried out by Akhenaten.
• The hidden goal behind this was to preserve the country from any revolution that might be brought about by the high priests of Amun.

Monuments

• King Ramesses I built a large hall with pillars in Karnak, and he died before completing it, and his son Seti I did this.
• Due to his short reign of only two years, he did not leave many traces.
• Before the king died, he ordered the construction of a tomb for him, which now bears No. 16 and is located in the Valley of the Kings, but he also died before it was fully built.
• His mummy was buried in the front rooms of the cemetery, unlike the usual, which is the burial of the mummy in a special room for the royal burial.
• A manuscript was found in the tomb bearing the name Kitab al-Abwab, which contains a part of the Book of the Dead.
• The book explained to us a lot about the religious beliefs of ancient Egypt.
• Despite the foregoing, there are some few monuments of King Ramses, including those found in the Temple of Seti I, which is located in Abydos, in addition to antiquities in Memphis and the Heliopolis region.

• Then, in 1999, a man named “William Jameson” purchased the museum and then sold the mummy to a museum in America for $2 million.
• The mummy remained in the museum for four years, after which it was found that it belonged to King Ramses I.
