What was King Khafre personality?
- It is said that the pharaoh is the son of King Khufu.
- A statue of King Khafre was found and is currently located in The Egyptian Museum in Tahrir Square, the most important Museums in Cairo.
- The statue depicts the king sitting, as in the Coronation of the Pharaohs.
- King Khafre’s mother is not yet known, and it is said that Khafre had sisters from a second mother.
- Among the king’s brothers is “Kawab”, who is considered his older brother.
- However, there is evidence from studies by Egyptologists that “Kawab” is the son of King Sneferu, and therefore it is likely that Kawab is a brother of Khufu, not Khafre.
- During the life of King Khafre, he married 4 women, and from one of them he produced a son, Menkaure, and the wife was “Kha Marar Nabti the First.”
What type of ruler was King Khafre?
- There is no conclusive evidence about the time of the Pharaoh’s rule, but it is likely that the beginning of his rule began in 2558 BC.
- During the reign of King Khafre, he built the second largest pyramid in the Giza area to indicate the development of Architecture in ancient Egypt and the ancient Egyptians’ mastery of Astronomy in ancient Egypt and Ancient Egyptian science such as mathematics and arithmetic.
- The height of the pyramid in the past was 143 meters, but its height has changed now and its length is 136 meters.

- The casing of the pyramid was taken to make one of the funerary Mortuary Temples in the “On” area, and this was by order of King Ramses II of the Nineteenth Dynasty of Egypt in the era of The New Kingdom in ancient Egypt.
The method of building the pyramid is similar to the Great Pyramid, due to the use of a protrusion made of stones in the heart of the pyramid. - The pyramid of King Khafre is also built on horizontal tracks with stones used at the bottom.
- Pink granite was used to make the bottom layer, unlike the rest of the pyramid where limestone from Tura was used.
- Inside the pyramid there are two entrances, each of which leads to the burial chamber, and the first entrance is 11.54 meters high.
