Tomb of Tausert

• Twosret is one of the members of the twenty-ninth dynasty, she took over the rule of Egypt in the period between 1191 to 1190 BC.
• Also, Set Nakht is one of the members of the Twentieth Dynasty who ruled Egypt from 1190 until 1186 BC.
• The length of the cemetery is 158.41 meters. It is known as KV14 and is considered a common cemetery.
• The tomb was discovered since ancient times, but it was studied and its features were discovered by Hartwig Altenmueller.
• The tomb was expanded and reused by Pharaoh Set.
• The cemetery was studied by the German scientist Hartwig Altenmüller, who came with a delegation from the University of Hamburg, who studied the cemetery between 1983 and 1987 BC.
Tusret cemetery from the inside
• Toast’s tomb comes from the inside, consisting of two burial chambers, which is evidence of the expansion operations that were carried out in the cemetery by Sitt Nakht.
• With the expansions, the cemetery was considered one of the largest in the Valley of the Kings.
• Set Nakht tried to obliterate any evidence or features of Queen Tusret from the tomb walls.
• He even tried to mislead the inscriptions so that they fit the name of King Setnakht.
• To date, the cemetery still retains its bright colors in the cemetery.
• The tomb comes with a set of inscriptions on the walls of the front chamber that come with inscriptions from the Book of Hell.
Twosret tomb inscriptions
• Among the inscriptions also found in the cemetery are inscriptions during the worship of the sun at sunset and the giving of Twosret a group of offerings to the gods.
• There are also inscriptions representing the ritual of opening the mouth on the statue of the queen, in addition to the depiction of Twosret while adorning a group of deities.
The texts of the Book of the Hereafter are also on the walls of the tomb.
• There is another room in the cemetery that contains stages from the Book of Doors and also the Book of Hell, which are funerary books that explain the deceased’s journey to the other world.
• There are also stars painted on the ceiling in one of the tomb chambers.
• The sarcophagus of King Setnakht was found, in addition to another sarcophagus of Queen Twosret.
• As for the king’s sarcophagus, a group of engravings was engraved on it that adorned it.
