Facts King Sethnakht

• King Set Nakht established the twentieth dynasty, and ruled Egypt from 1186 to 1183 BC.
• It was said that Set Nakht ruled Egypt for only two years, but a manuscript was found in Mount Sinai, which comes with the number 271 and states that there is a third year of Set Nakht’s reign.
• Set Nakht was the father of Ramses III, the second king of the twentieth dynasty, and it is said that he ruled Egypt in the period between 1186 until 1155 BC.
• Ramses III is considered one of the greatest kings of the modern kingdom, due to a long series of successes he made on the political, economic and military levels.

• The twentieth dynasty, which is the dynasty founded by King Set Nakht, is the last dynasty for the period of the modern Egyptian kingdom.
• The capital of the modern Egyptian kingdom was Thebes, which was the first capital, which changed several times after that.
• That family ruled Egypt for nearly 117 years, i.e. from 1186 until 1077 BC.
• The family came to contain most of its kings with the title of Ramses, and the first king was Ramses III until Ramses XI.
• Among the effects left by that family is the Temple of Ramses III located in Medinet Habu.
• The mummy of King Ramses III, in addition to the tomb of Twosret and West Nakht.
