Historical facts about King Seti I – Sethos I:

  • King Seti I, son of King Ramesses I and the second king of the Pharaohs of the nineteenth Pharaonic dynasty of Egypt.
  • He assumed the rule of the throne of ancient Egypt after the death of his father and the most prominent era of The New Kingdom in ancient Egypt.
  • He carried out many military campaigns against Syria, Palestine, Libya, and Nubia, and the wars he carried out were recorded on the walls of the ancient Egyptian Temples in Luxor and Aswan.
  • King Seti I built the base of the great columns in the Karnak Temple, known as the Great Hall of Legends. was interested in drawing engravings of his victories and the torture of Bedouins, Libyans, and Syrian prisoners after the war.
  • He created Temple of Seti I in Luxor. The king was painted as one of the religious symbols and beliefs of ancient Egypt and the ancient Egyptian gods on the walls of Egyptian Tombs.
  • He created the Temple of Seti I in the Jebel Qurna area “Kurna”.
  • In his time, the oldest map of gold “Ancient Egyptian Metallurgy” extraction sites in Wadi Hammamat was designed, and the map is now preserved in the Turin Museum in Italy.
  • He ruled the throne of Egypt for 14 years.
  • The king’s Mummy was buried in his royal Tomb of King Sethi I | KV17 in the Valley of the Kings tombs, where the depth of the tomb reaches 120 meters into the ground.
