King Ramses V

• Ramesses preceded his father, Ramses IV, while his successor was Ramses VI.
• The king died in 1145 BC and was buried in Cemetery 9.
• There are two papyri dating back to his time, depicting the political and economic situation in the country during the Ramesside period.
• While the papyri praised the queen and clarified some examples of the legal transactions carried out by the king during his reign.
• The two papyri are the Turin papyrus in addition to the Wilbur papyrus. The Turin papyrus is an ancient Egyptian map, so that historians called it the oldest geological map.
• The papyrus was discovered in Deir el-Madina, which is located in the city of Thebes, and was drawn by the tomb type “Amn Nakht”.
• King Ramses V was buried in the cemetery of the Valley of the Kings, which was prepared by his father, King Ramses IV, but he died during the preparation period.
