Late Period

The era witnessed a period of decline in ancient Egyptian civilization beginning from 664 to 332, and the rulers of Egypt were varying degrees of opportunity and Egyptian kings.

The 25th Pharaonic Dynasty

In fact, the kings of the Twenty-Fifth Dynasty of Egypt arose in the Kingdom of Kush, that archaeological kingdom that is currently located within northern Sudan and at the same time located in the cities of the far south of Egypt, as in the Geography of ancient Egypt.

Most kings also considered that this Egyptian family was indeed their first seed, or their spiritual home.

The kings of that dynasty also ruled Egypt for a period that can be said to be a partial period at certain times and times, and a total period at other times and times, meaning that it was the period between 744 and 665 BC..

When did the dynastic rule over Egypt begin?

In fact, the era of the Twenty-Fifth Dynasty of Egypt began with King Kashta’s conquest of Upper Egypt, and that period of rule was followed by long years of a large and notable number of sometimes successful wars and a small number of unsuccessful wars at other times with the Neo-Assyrian Empire..

The reunification that took place in both the Twenty-Fifth Dynasty of Egypt within the scope of Lower and Upper Egypt and with the Kush Empire at that time created the largest true empire of Egyptian origin since the periods that were during the era of the New Kingdom of Egypt..

They had already integrated into that society by making attempts to reaffirm the existence of those ancient Egyptian religious traditions and the Ancient Egyptian religion, and at the same time the presence of those important Egyptian Temples and their artistic forms, while presenting a number of those Egyptian aspects related to the existence of those Cushite culture.

More importantly, during the reigns of the Twenty-fifth Dynasty, the Nile River Valley in Egypt witnessed the first revival of the construction of those important pyramids “The Pyramids of Giza“, many of which now exist in Sudan..

The end of Kushite power

In fact, after Emperor Sargon II and Emperor Sennacherib succeeded in thwarting many of the attempts of these Nubian kings, through which they succeeded in gaining their own foothold in the Near East, their successors invaded the Nubians and then succeeded in expelling them from Egypt..

The war with the Assyrian Empire also led to the end of the rule of that Kushite authority in northern Egypt and at the same time in its south later. Egypt was invaded by the rulers of that Neo-Assyrian Empire..

Then they were succeeded after that by the 26th Dynasty of Egypt, beginning with the rule of King Psamtik I, that dynasty that was actually in the beginning a ruling family affiliated with the Assyrians, but after that it separated and became independent on its own after a few years had passed..

Thus, it became the last local Egyptian family that was able to rule Egypt before the periods of the Achaemenid invasion.

It is also important to mention that the fall of the Twenty-Fifth Dynasty in Egypt represents the beginning of the emergence of the Late Period periods in the rule of ancient Egypt.
