After Ptolemy III assumed the throne and ruled the country, he succeeded in marrying Queen Berenice II Euergetis, who was the crowned queen of Cyrenaica, and then, after marrying her, he was able to enter her lands to become actually vassals or under the Ptolemaic crown.. 

The military achievements he made during his rule

The third Syrian war, which took place from 246 to 241 BC, was a period of brilliance in which Ptolemy III was able to invade those lands belonging to the Seleucids, and then he had achieved at that time an almost complete victory..

But despite his achieved victory, he was actually forced at that time to end his campaign completely, and this was after long campaigns of rebellion in Egypt..

However, despite this, in the wake of these campaigns of this fierce rebellion, Ptolemy III was able to document all his extended relationships with an elite group of Egyptian high priests, as he recorded this matter and recognized it in the Edict of Canopus in the year 238 BC, and thus He was able to strengthen the power of the Ptolemaic state inside Egypt.

However, despite this, in the Aegean Sea, the authority of the Macedonian king Ptolemy III had suffered a very major setback, and this was after the defeat of his naval fleet, which occurred at the hands of the Antigonids in the battle known as Andros, and this matter occurred from about the year 245 BC…

But despite this defeat, he continued his financial support for the Antigonids’ enemies in mainland Greece throughout the rest of his reign after this setback..

After his death, he was succeeded in assuming the throne by his eldest son, known as Ptolemy IV.
