El-Khalifa district – Al-Khalīfa neighborhood:

The neighborhood of El-Khalifa is an important part of the area of the citadel of Salah al-Din Al-Ayoubi, the area of Sayeda Zeinab, where the mosque of El-Imam El-Shafii and the school of the Righteous are located, as well as the mausoleum of Imam El-Shafii and one of the most important Cairo Neighborhoods.

The neighborhood includes the mausoleum and mosque of Al-Imam Al-Laithi, an Egyptian jurist, you will see the marble pillars of the mosque and Islamic inscriptions on the wood as well as a wooden hut and inlaid with mother-of-pearl and a marble panel with chairs decorated with Arabic calligraphy.

The neighborhood is home to the mosque of El-Sayeda Nafissa, the granddaughter of the prophet Muhammad’s cousin, Ali Ebn Abi Talib, the mosque is characterized by the Islamic architectural style and comes there by Muslims from all over the world, and the mosque has been renovated more than once.

Al-Khalifa district is famous for its historic market located between citadel square and sultan Ahmed Ebn Tolon Mosque, as well as for its historical monuments such as El-Saliba Street, with a Sabil and the school of the mother of Khedive Abbas.

Al-Azhar district – Cairo Neighborhoods:

Al-Azhar neighborhood is home to Qaherat Al-Moezz Ledin Ellah the Fatimid Street, which is considered one of the most famous and oldest streets in the city of Cairo and crowded with people and markets.

Next to Al-Azhar neighborhood is the neighborhood of Al-Gammalaya  inside the Old Cairo Wall built by Prince Badr Al-Gammali, which houses several historic gates such as Bab Al-Nasr and Bab Al-Fotouh, and the neighborhood  of Al-Gammalaya houses the Mosque of Al Hakem Be’amr Ellah, which was built in the Fatimid period, in addition to the house of Al-Suhaimi, which is located in the area of El-Darb  El-Ahmar  “Cairo Neighborhoods” and the Mosque of Al-Aqmar of the Fatimid era.

When you start your journey in Darb Kormoz , which is part of the Beshtak Street Palace, you will find Sultan Abdul Rahman Katkhoda and Sabil Khesrou, as well as the Barquq Mosque, the Qalawon Mosque and the Najm-El-Din Ayoub Dome, nicknamed the Dome of El-Malek El-Saleh.

Al-Hussein District is one of the oldest Cairo Neighborhoods and ancient heritage districts in Cairo and is home to the Mosque of El-Hussein Ebn Ali Ebn Abi Talib, where the neighborhood was built during the reign of El-Hakem Be’amr Ellah in 996 AD during the Fatimid period.

Al-Hussein neighborhood is home to a group of popular streets such as the commercial street of El-Moski and parallel to AL-Azhar Street directly and one of the oldest neighborhoods of Old Cairo.

Al-Moezz Ledin Ellah the Fatimid Street – Cairo Neighborhoods:

Al-Moezz Street has been classified as an archaeological area where it is considered one of the oldest Cairo Neighborhoods and streets in Egypt and is full of historical monuments and was the seat of the ancient Fatimid caliph and was named after the Great Street.

Your journey begins on Al-Moezz Street from the ancient gate called Bab Zweila, then you go to a square that houses the Mosque of Al-Mouayed Ledin Ellah, then you will see the archaeological complex of Sultan al-Mansour Qalawon, known as the Bein El-Qassrein Area. .

At the end of Al-Moezz street you will find the gate named Bab Al-Fottouh, where during your trip you will see more than 15 tourist attractions and were explained earlier on the site in detail archaeological mosques, baths, sabils, Kottab, schools, ancient hotels (Khanat),historical gates and popular commercial markets.

Khan al-Khalili neighborhood:

You will find a small hotel, nicknamed Al-Mossafer Khana, which is now a place of drawing for artists, where the archaeological place houses Islamic-style rooms, and it is known that Sultan Al-Ghouri restored and built many buildings in Khan al-Khalili neighborhood.

The streets of the Khalifa district are very narrow, and you will find small shops selling Egyptian antiques, copper and silver artifacts, fabrics, and furniture with works of art that only the craftsman of Khan al-Khalili neighborhood has specialized and interest tourists of all nationalities.

 

El-Darb El-Ahmar district:

The neighborhood of El-Darb El-Ahmar is home to the mosque named Harbaya or Al-Esshaqy mosque. This mosque is characterized by a marble floor and all the doors are carved copper in addition in this area is the Mardani Mosque.

The neighborhood is also home to the Blue Mosque in Cairo’s most important old Cairo Neighborhoods.

Khayamay a street – Cairo Neighborhoods:

Khayamaya street begins in Bab Zweila and ends at Al-Qalaa Street, where the street is divided into areas running from Bab Zweila to Zawyet Sultan Abdel Rahman Katkhoda, known as Zawyet El-Khayamaya, then from the area of El Magharba and Sagha.

Khayamaya Street includes al-Saleh Tala’i Mosque, Zawyet Faraj Ebn Barqouq, as well as Al-Kurdi Mosque, Sabil Inal and Iqbal Al-Youssef Mosque.

In El-Magharba area, you will find the school of Jani Bey Al-Ashrafi and Zawyet Abderrahman Katkhoda, then you will travel to the Sarouji area to find the mosque of Jan Shahlon and Tekeyet  Sulaymaniyah.
