Japanese Garden

It was established in the Helwan area (south of Cairo) in 1917, but it was probably used as a tea garden with golden sunshine.
The Japanese Garden is dotted with many walking slopes that are dotted with beautiful trees on both sides.
The garden is one of the largest unique gardens in Cairo, with an area of 40,468 square meters, equivalent to (about 10 acres), and the Egyptians have cherished it since its opening in 1917.

About the Japanese Garden in Cairo:

The Japanese Garden was designed and built in 1917 by architect Zulfiqar Pasha, who dedicated the garden to Sultan Hussein Kamel, then ruler of Egypt. At that time, Helwan was a new city that was planned with a network of streets as a winter haven for Egypt’s notables.
The park remained a popular destination among other tourist attractions in Helwan until the sixties, when the Egyptian government converted Helwan into an industrial city, and the park fell out of the memory of the Egyptian government.

The most prominent features of the Japanese garden in Cairo:

Containing a series of (fish) ponds, canals, hills and a variety of trees, this Japanese-themed park features over 30 Buddha statues, as well as several larger individual statues including the larger Buddha statues and a 10-foot Buddha head.
The main fountain of the garden contains Buddha seated on a lotus flower surrounded by three elephants. The garden also includes a tall pagoda and a large gazebo. The main park is surrounded by pink carved lanterns.
Among the statues in the garden, the lotus flower statue that bears the statue of Zulfiqar Pasha, the garden designer, and around it are statues of the eastern elephants that guard the place. There is also a statue of the face of life in the garden, which is a woman who closes her eyes with a smile of shyness that reflects the idea of reverence for women, and there is also a statue The triple wisdom, which urges man not to interfere in the affairs of others, “I do not hear, I do not see, I do not speak.”
