Saqqara discoveries

In 2011, millions of mummified animal mummies were discovered, which were mostly dogs.

About the village of Dahshur

The village of Dahshur is a village belonging to Markaz Badrashin, located in Giza Governorate.
The village was founded in 2589 BC.
The village includes a large group of antiquities, as the pharaoh of Egypt Sneferu chose to build his tomb in that spot.
The tomb of Sneferu’s father, also called Djoser, is located in that area, and Djoser is the owner of the Step Pyramid of Saqqara.

Dahshur tombs

There are tombs in Dahshur dating back to the period from 2613 to 2589 BC.
One of the first pyramids in Dahshur is the pyramid of Sneferu.
Sneferu wanted to build a pyramid with smooth surfaces, but due to a number of errors, the pyramid was bent.
The Red Pyramid is the second pyramid of Sneferu after the failure of the first attempt. The pyramid came with a height of 104 m, and it came at an angle of 43 degrees.
This pyramid was called the Red Pyramid because of the red limestone that was used in the construction.
