● The goddess Taweret has many special abilities, she does not reach old age and always remains young, and her body has the ability to resist diseases and injuries, and she has the ability to endure, and she cannot die in the traditional ways that humans die.
● Unlike most other deities, the goddess Tawert does not appear in a human form and then turns into another animal image. The goddess Tawert basically takes the form of a monster consisting of three animals, namely the hippopotamus, the lion and the crocodile, and does not take the form of humans other than dangling breasts and female hair, her head Its body is in the shape of a hippopotamus with a distended belly, it has legs like those of a lion, and a tail like that of a crocodile.
● The goddess Taweret appears in many drawings wearing the crown of the god Hathor, who is also a protector of mothers and fetuses. This crown takes the form of a sun disk and is topped by two high feathers.
● The goddess Taweret appears in some images holding a torch in her hand to remove darkness and fear, to terrify evil spirits, or to protect the dead from darkness and guide them to a safe place in the afterlife.

● It was also known as (Ibt), which means the breast-feeder, and the two names were merged together later to become (Ibt-rt).
The historical significance of the God Taweret
● God Taweret was characterized by ferocity, which made it a protector for pregnant women and young children. Pregnant mothers wore amulets bearing the image of the goddess Tawert to protect them from evil spirits and harmful animals such as crocodiles and snakes.
● The goddess Taweret was not just a popular deity, but was sanctified by kings as well. One of the hierarchical texts depicts a king feeding from the breast of the goddess Taweret.
● The goddess Tawert also takes the form of a hippopotamus due to its association with fertility and the flood of the Nile River, which made the ancient Egyptians believe that it brings goodness and prosperity to the Egyptian economy. Inscriptions were found in Jabal al-Silsilah representing the rituals that were recited to the god Tawert at the time of the flood, and it is likely that they date back to the era of the Nineteenth Dynasty .

● The god Tawert was also revered as a protector of the rising sun, and they believed that it had a role in the resurrection after death, so statues and amulets were placed with the deceased after burial to protect him in the afterlife.
● Rare amulets of the god Tawert were found, and they are now in the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Scientists believe that they date back to the Twenty-sixth and Twenty-ninth Dynasties. There is also a statue of him in the Egyptian Museum in Cairo.
